Adcock: Figure lifts way more than 50 lbs

Brett Adcock told Chris Paxton his humanoid payload chart was wrong, then fixed his own typo to say Figure can carry much heavier than 50 lbs with full loco-manipulation. Paxton's reply: the source ChatGPT pulled was wrong.

EigenDEXplore: explore a 20-DOF hand along human motion patterns, not noise

Harsh Gupta released EigenDEXplore, which swaps per-joint random noise for exploration along coordinated patterns learned from human hand motion while keeping control of every joint. Jeannette Bohg describes it as a new take on grasp synergies, adding noise along learned directions instead of locking the hand into a low-dimensional space.

It’s really surprising to me that such a small change in the action exploration space can make such a big difference for dexterous manipulation

Teleop and other arguments

Adcock says Figure lifts far more than 50 lbs, disputing Paxton

Brett Adcock pushed back on Chris Paxton's claim that neither Figure nor Optimus can handle the roughly 50 lb payload most human work needs, saying Figure can do "much heavier than 50lbs even with full locomanip." Paxton had flagged 50 lbs as the OSHA limit for manual material handling and noted his chart came from ChatGPT.
