Tesla: 300+ Cybercabs in Austin, 8x in 30 days
A University of Washington group says its robots mesh gears and thread nuts with zero real-world training data, all clips at 1x. Meanwhile Tesla says Austin now has more than 300 Cybercabs, eight times as many as a month ago.

New sim-to-real method does gear meshing and nut threading with zero real data
Octi Zhang released Success-Guided Sampling (SGS), a tweak to what a robot practices in simulation that gets it meshing gears, threading nuts and inserting pegs zero-shot from RGB cameras, plus locomotion over harder terrain.
No demonstrations, no retargeting, no tactile sensors, no crazy reward tuning.
Musk says a digital Optimus plays Diablo by watching the screen
Elon Musk says Digital Optimus can get about halfway through the Diablo campaign purely by looking at the screen the way a human does. He says skill at Counter-Strike and other fast games is good too, League of Legends is in training, and the goal is to generalize across all games. Nobody outside Tesla has seen it run.

Tesla's Robotaxi account says more than 300 Cybercabs now serve Austin, an eight-fold increase in the 30 days since launch. Ashok Elluswamy says Dallas is next, two years after the 10/10 Cybercab WeRobot event. No ride counts, intervention rates or safety numbers came with it.
