Hark hit 281K daily users in 48 hours, then fell over
Brett Adcock posted the launch numbers himself, along with the outage that came with them.
Brett Adcock says Hark pulled 281,165 daily active users and 4.3 million messages sent in the first 48 hours after launch, and that the service is back online and stable after an outage.
The outage came first. In an earlier post, Adcock said the growth had broken things. "Hark has exploded over the last 48 hours, and all the user growth caused some infra issues today," he wrote, adding that launch was "far beyond my expectations" and that he was personally working with the team to stabilize it.
Hark has exploded over the last 48 hours, and all the user growth caused some infra issues today.
The follow-up post carried the numbers and the all-clear. "We're fully back online and stable," Adcock wrote, and said the plan now is to scale everything up faster than originally planned.
What is actually verified
Nothing, yet. Both the user count and the message count come from the founder, on his own product, in his own posts. There is no independent analytics firm, no app store ranking, no third-party traffic estimate in the sources to check them against. Daily active users is also a number that can be defined generously, and nobody outside the company has said how Hark counts one.
That is not a reason to assume the figures are wrong. Founders post launch numbers all the time and most of them hold up roughly. It is a reason to label them as what they are, a claim rather than a result, until something outside the company confirms them.
Why this is in a robotics roundup
Because of who posted it. Adcock runs Figure, and Hark is the consumer product he launched on web, iOS and Android days before these numbers appeared. The people watching humanoid timelines are the same people watching what else he ships and how fast it moves.
The sources do not say what caused the infrastructure failure, how long Hark was down, or what the usage numbers look like now that the launch spike has passed. Adcock did not break any of that out. The one forward-looking line is the scaling plan, and that is a statement of intent rather than a milestone.
So the honest version is short. A lot of people showed up fast, the servers could not take it, the founder says it is fixed, and the only evidence for the size of the crowd is the founder's own post.
