Adcock tells a Hark user "You lie about this?"
A public spat over a $30 credit, with the evidence sitting behind a link nobody else can check.
Eric Lu posted that he emailed Hark support saying the product did not work and was handed a $30 pizza credit, despite never downloading the app. His post ended with "this sh too easy cmon man".
Brett Adcock, who runs Hark, replied directly to Lu with "You lie about this?" followed by "My team" and a link. That is the whole public exchange in the sources. Adcock did not spell out what the link shows, and Lu has not posted a response that settles it.
You lie about this?
What can actually be checked
Nothing, from the outside. The two posts are the entire record here. Adcock says his team has something that contradicts Lu, but whatever that is sits behind a link, so from the posts alone no third party can tell whose version of the support email is right. Nobody should assume either man is lying based on what is public.
What makes it worth a line is who is doing the replying. Adcock is the founder, answering a single user complaint himself, in public, with an accusation rather than a support ticket. That is a choice about how a consumer product handles its loudest critics, and it is visible to everyone scrolling past.
Context
Hark has had a noisy few weeks. Adcock launched Hark Pro on web, iOS and Android, and the app hit 281K daily active users in 48 hours before the infrastructure fell over. A product growing that fast tends to collect refund requests, credit abuse and people testing how far support will bend, which is roughly the shape of the thing being argued about here.
The $30 pizza credit itself is small. The question underneath it is bigger and still open. Either a support team was handing out money to someone who never used the product, or a user was exaggerating for a post. The sources do not resolve which.
Shown versus claimed. Lu claims he got the credit without downloading the app. Adcock claims his team has evidence that this is false. Neither claim has been verified by anyone outside the two accounts.
I just emailed hark support directly saying it didn’t work and they gave me the $30 pizza credit.
