Figure built a secret home inside HQ to test its new model

Brett Adcock says the test house is called Blackbox, and that Figure's newest model is "baby AGI".

Figure has a house hidden inside its headquarters. Brett Adcock says the company created a secret home inside the HQ called Blackbox to test its frontier models. That is the whole post. No photos, no floor plan, no tasks.

The context is a summary from The Humanoid Labs, which Adcock was replying to. According to that account, Adcock says Figure's newest model is "baby AGI" and the most significant moment he has ever had in robotics. The same summary says the model was trained last month on the most pre-training data and GPUs in Figure's history, and that an even larger model is ready in a few weeks.

Shown versus claimed

Nothing has been shown. There is no video, no task list, no success rate, no duration, and no third party who has watched the model run. This is a founder describing his own unreleased model, relayed through a summary of his remarks. "Baby AGI" is a vibe, not a benchmark, and nobody outside Figure can check it yet.

The Blackbox detail is the more concrete piece, and it is still thin. A home environment built inside an office is a sensible way to test a general-purpose humanoid, because houses are cluttered, variable and full of the kinds of objects a factory floor never produces. Testing indoors and privately also means the company controls exactly what the outside world sees and when. Figure has been willing to show long unedited hardware runs before, including the 13 straight days of treadmill walking it posted earlier this month.

So the thing to watch is whether the next Figure release comes out of Blackbox with footage attached. A model trained on the company's largest ever compute and data run, tested in a purpose-built home, with a bigger one allegedly weeks behind it, is a specific set of claims. Each one has a clip that could prove it. None of those clips exist in public right now.
